Ruyton student selected as Inky Judge

We are very pleased to announce that Vinhara Goonesekera has been selected to become an Inky Judge.  The Inky awards, designed to celebrate youth literature, are organised by the State Library’s Centre for Youth Literature.  Vinhara will be required to read and evaluate twenty longlisted books.  She will work closely with the author Lucy Christopher and five other youth judges to select the best Australian and international titles for 2014. She will also assist in the selection of the Inky’s Creative Reading Prize and attend the Awards Ceremony in November.  At the awards ceremony she will give feedback to the authors and the audience about the judging process. The position of Inky Judge is highly prized and much contested. We congratulate Vinhara on her success in the interview process and wish her all the best in her work as a judge.
