A group of Lit Club students attended the Melbourne Writers Festival on Wednesday 28 August. It was an enlightening experience and we all enjoyed ourselves. We first attended a conference session presented by Demet Divaroren and Amra Pajalic, related to their anthology called ‘Coming of Age: Growing Up Muslim in Australia’ After a small break in the sunshine, we were in the audience of the conference session conducted by Alice Pung and Fiona Scott-Norman discussing their collection of short stories entitled ‘Bully for Them: Outstanding Australians on hard lessons learned at school’. After a delicious lunch on the sunny banks of the Yarra River, we had a brief visit to the Melbourne City Library, before returning to Kew by train. Exhausted, we trudged up Glenferrie Road under the blazing sun, returning safely to our very own Ruyton Library. Angelyn, Leyla and others
