As part of National Reconciliation Week this year, Ruyton girls were asked to make friendship bracelets in the colour of the Aboriginal flag - as a symbol of 'Walk Together with Courage'
On 22 May, 2019, Ruyton Junior School students made up part of the 1.1 million people that read this year's National Simultaneous Storytime book, Alpacas with Maracas, at the same time.

On the weekend, Francesca L. from 3 Yellow was lucky enough to attend the play ‘A Ghost in my Suitcase’ based on the award-winning book by Gabrielle Wang, who visited Ruyton girls last term during Book Week.
In Term 3 a group of very enthusiastic Year 2 girls were chosen to be part of a special trial of ‘Year 2 Book Club’. The girls involved, all avid readers, enjoyed meeting together each Thursday lunchtime to discuss a number of books and share their love of reading.
During Book Week, The Year 6 Library Team challenged Junior School Girls to create a diorama based on a scene from their favourite book, but with one twist - using items from around the home that would otherwise be thrown away, to make a treasured book-inspired theme using ‘trash’!
