On the weekend, Francesca L. from 3 Yellow was lucky enough to attend the play ‘A Ghost in my Suitcase’ based on the award-winning book by Gabrielle Wang, who visited Ruyton girls last term during Book Week.

In Term 3 a group of very enthusiastic Year 2 girls were chosen to be part of a special trial of ‘Year 2 Book Club’. The girls involved, all avid readers, enjoyed meeting together each Thursday lunchtime to discuss a number of books and share their love of reading.

During Book Week, The Year 6 Library Team challenged Junior School Girls to create a diorama based on a scene from their favourite book, but with one twist - using items from around the home that would otherwise be thrown away, to make a treasured book-inspired theme using ‘trash’!

We have been working on this puzzle for almost one and a half years. Most lunchtimes we would come up to the library, eager to finish the puzzle. It was a very challenging puzzle of 1000 pieces, but we finally finished it! - Fiona, Sophia and Charlotte

On Wednesday 21 February and Friday 23 February, 20 girls in Year 3 to Year 6 came to library to attend a lunch time origami activity.

Earlier this term I had the opportunity to attend a most captivating conversation between Newbery award winning children’s author, Kate DiCamillo and Australian Author/Illustrator, Sally Rippin, at The Wheeler Centre.
