The theme of this year’s Children’s Book Council (CBC) Book Week is Connect to reading ~ Reading to connect. This theme is a powerful endorsement of the work we do within the library, as we strive to empower our students to not only love literature but also recognise the power of sharing their reading experience with their peers. Our celebrations of Book Week within the Ruyton Library, allows us to take time to reflect on the excellent literature published within this country for young readers. The highlight of the week was certainly the Junior School Book Week Character parade. The costumes were not only colorful and imaginative but an active celebration of the children’s love of reading and literature.
