Lit Club welcomed back a favourite past member, Charlotte, to enjoy a special birthday celebration for Jemma
Ruyton recently hosted a parent information session conducted by The Fathering Project. The University of Western Australia-based non-profit team of professionals, aims to support fathers in their vital role as Dads. We now have The Fathering Project books and a DVD available for loan.
It was pleasing to see so many entries in our 2015 Book Week competition. Our congratulations are extended to the following winners - Juliet Bland (Year 4), Abigail Richards (Year 6) Leyla Yucel (Year 8)
On Friday 11 September, Alice Pung visited Ruyton to speak to Year 7 and Year 8 students about her personal journey to becoming a writer. Her latest book ‘Laurinda’ tells the story of Lucy Lam, a clever scholarship student and her experiences within a private girls’ school. It deals with the pressures of teenage life and the desire to fit in, balanced against the inherent cruelty a school culture based around privilege and intergenerational wealth and status.

"Dreams are engines" were one of the many quotes said today at the famous 'Reading matters' conference the lit club members attended.
On the afternoon of Wednesday 1 April, a group of Ruyton students voluntarily gathered to challenge and extend themselves as readers by attending The Dangerous Ideas workshop
This term, the Junior School has had the opportunity to be involved in Lamont Book Club.
